About Machattu Mamangam

The main procession of Machattu Mamangam festival is on the closing day, where cotticholam the effigies of horses is decorated heavily, and devotees are brought to the temple in the form of offerings by the devotees. The five-day festival of Pangereri is celebrated in the Machchit Thiruvanikavu temple dedicated to Goddess Bhagwati.

Machattu Mamangam is marked with enthusiasm where the reversed crowds are lost in resale, they cheer on live effigies. In the evening chendamelam traditional percussion music with elephant pagrants is carried out in the courtyard of the temple. In the festival days, many cultural programs are also organized to add to pomp and glory.
