About Masimagam Festival

Masi Magam Festival is the yearly celebration that happens on the full moon day in the Tamil month of Masi which falls in the middle of February and March. In this celebration different conventional traditions are watched like divinities from the neighboring sanctuaries are brought around Karaikal and numerous enthusiasts come to take heavenly dunk in the ocean to purify every one of the transgressions.

The most noteworthy god is Sowriraja Perumal of Thirukannapuram. The fanciful story is that Sowriraja Perumal was hitched to a lady of angler group and that made him to enter the angler town. The celebration is seen on that event as the god enters human culture and individuals offers a generous welcome to him.
