Festa Muzika
About Festa Muzika
The European Union in Timor Leste and the Government of Timor-Leste, with the collaboration of the Institut Français of Timor Leste, are honored to organize for the 5th consecutive year Festa Múzika in Dili. This year, the event is also gold sponsored by National Insurance of Timor-Leste. After the crocodile, the cuscus, the mascot for this year is the Kakoak, a bird from Timor-Leste. A rare and strange-looking bird that needs to be protected because it is a specie that may disappear today in Timor-Leste. If you are into music then mark this festival on your calendar. The music you are about to watch, listen and enjoy is not the usual concert music you normally see on TV or in stadium.
Sit back and relax while you are at the Festa Muzika. After all it is the largest music festival in Timor-Leste. The festival is jointly organised by the European Commission and the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture. You might be wondering what music do the locals normally play and listen. This is a great opportunity to experience both modern and traditional music of Timorese people. From modern music of rap and rock to traditional dance and song of the locals, there are what represents the country and its people. Apart from exposing young talent, the event aims to promote the culture of Timor-Leste as a whole.
