Travelling to Hawaii just got better for medical marijuana users

This is a major step and with the introduction of electronic medical cannabis in Hawaii has improved the access to the medical cannabis to the authorized users and out-of-state users as well with the prior electronic registration. Bruce Anderson, the director of state department of health said that now Hawaii is among this is a great initiative and now Hawaii comes along with 37 other jurisdiction in which the out-of-state qualified marijuana users are authorized to get the same without being scrutinized. At present use of Marijuana is legalized in 32 other states, Washington, D.C and four U.S territories.
 

The process of registration for the legal cannabis started on March 5 when the applications got live.the travellers need a card what is called card ‘329’ which would be issued in their own country for the medical use of marijuana. Anyone who is applying for the card must be able to certify the medical condition that allows them to use cannabis. This can be one of the following like AIDS, cancer, chronic pain, epilepsy, PTSD.

For the electronic registration process, registration fee of $49.50 is applicable for the out-of-state patients. However they need to complete the registration 60 days before visiting the islands.Once applied they can download the card on their phone or tablet and keep it handy for whenever required. This would allow the travellers to purchase 4 ounce of marijuana from any licensed dispensary from the islands. 
 

This is also a great initiative to increase the tourism in Hawaii as people from other states undergoing medical treatment would not have to think twice to go on a holiday and worry about the medication. It should definitely not be a choice to be without the medication when it is absolutely required, says Executive Director Pedro Haro.

Few more things that you need to keep in mind when you apply for the medical card in Hawaii:

1. Medical cannabis can be only purchased from the islands of Hawaii, Kauai, Maui and Ohau.
2. You can’t buy marijuana from island to island. The inter-island transportation of marijuana is not allowed.
3. Hawaii doesn’t allow the use of Marijuana for recreational purposes
