About Salzburg Festival

 

The Austrian city of Salzburg is all geared up to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Salzburg Festival. This is a prominent festival of Austria that is dedicated to music and drama. Performers and audiences from every corner of the globe assemble here to display their craft in ious operas, theaters and concerts in this gala ceremony.

This year around the theme of Salzburg Festival is Mythology. And all the performances will revolve around this central theme. This year, you may look forward to no less than four world premieres: works by Thomas Ads, Peter Etvs, Friedrich Cerha and Mark Simpson will be performed for the very first time.

Corresponding to the mythological theme, this edition of Salzburg Festival will be showcasing some timeless dramas that is sure to have some cathartic effect on the audience. Three new productions, the revival of Jedermann, the staged melodrama Requiem fr Ernst Jandl and two readings from works by Thomas Bernhard constitute the drama programme for .

Contemporary composer Adam Fischer is the highlight of the concerts of Salzburg Festival . Moreover, A walk-in encyclopedia entitled "The Salzburg Festival from A to Z" will offer a dramaturgical setting allowing visitors to explore the Salzburg Festival in all its glory and fame.
