About Ratha Yatra
This celebration is prevalently known as Ratha Yatra, Gundicha Yatra and furthermore Ghosha Yatra. On the Car Festival day, the gods are removed from the sanctuary and set in their individual chariots, kept close to the Singhadwar. The divinities are conveyed to the chariots in a customary formal way first Sudarshana, trailed by Balabhadra, Subhadra and Jagannath.
Balabhadra and Jagannath are made to swing forward and in reverse in a way called 'Pahandi'. The chariot of Lord Jagannath is known as Nandighosha. It has 16th haggles shade of the textures that cover the top of the chariot are red and yellow. The chariot of Lord Balabhadra is known as Taladhwaja. It has 14th haggles shades of the textures are red and green.
