About Peralassery Festival
The Peralassery Sri Subrahmanya Temple, placed round 16 kms south of Kannur town at the Kannur - Koothuparamba road is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Subrahmanya. It is popularly believed that this area of worship was built by Lord Rama himself. The annual Kodiyettam festival of is held for eight days beginning from 4th of the Malayalam month of Dhanu and ends on 11th of the identical month. The ritual of Kodiyettam is held on 4th day of the competition and is accompanied with the aid of the ritual of Kazhcha Sreebali and Thidambu Nritham.
