About Onassis Youth Festival
Students depart the school room and move upstairs. Their "teaching", instead of teachers, takes artists. Anxious young adults are inspired through 3 restless towns: Athens, Alexandria, Beirut. Their automobile, their personal festival, the Onassis Youth Festival, that's coming to shake the roof of the residence. "And now, they've an idea," Aristotle Onassis stated quickly earlier than leaving his paintings in Buenos Aires, wherein he worked as a nightclub.
At Home, ideas find their home and young adults their pageant. For three hours a week, in a frenzy of ideas, improvisations, sports and intensive lectures with important Greek artists, college students create the most rejuvenating teenage pageant. This year, the triangle, Alexandria-Athens-Beirut, is a source of inspiration, three fascinating, restless cities with rich subculture and records.
Through the contact with actual histories of the inhabitants, from memoirs, documents, historical files, literary and theatrical works, as well as private interviews, the scholars choose the stimuli that contact them and their thoughts end up performances that flood the Little Stage of the Roof. Because the scholars, with their authentic thoughts, are the superb, outstanding protagonists of the Onassis Youth Festival.
