About Mysore Dasara
Mysuru Dasara is the Nadahabba of the kingdom of Karnataka in India. It is a ten-day festival, beginning with Navaratri and the closing day being Vijayadashami. The festival is observed on the 10th day within the Hindu calendar month of Ashvin, which usually falls within the Gregorian months of September and October.
The Hindu competition of Dasara, Navratri and Vijayadashami celebrates the victory of top over evil. It become the day inside the Hindu legends whilst Goddess Chamundeshwari killed the demon Mahishasura. Mahishasura is the demon whose slaying by the Goddess gave the town the call Mysuru. The Mysuru lifestyle celebrates the soldiers and the kingdom preventing for the best during this competition, ritually worshipping and showing the state sword, weapons, elephants, horses at the side of Hindu Devi goddess in her warrior shape as well as the Vishnu avatar Rama. The ceremonies and a major procession is historically presided via the king of Mysuru.
