About Menajak Festival

The Local Government Unit of Calamba, Misamis Occidental held the much anticipated Menajak Festival 2011 last February 14, 2011 as the headliner for the 63rd Araw ng Calamba. Menajak is a Subanen words which signifies "LOVE". The celebration is held at regular intervals amid the Araw ng Calamba. The Menajak Tableau Competition and Search for Menajak Festival Queen 2011 features the 63rd Araw ng Calamba.

The Menajak celebration is one of the much anticipated celebrations in Calamba with an extremely rich history of the Subanen Tribes. The Menajak Festival is an exceptional festival of the Town's Foundation Anniversary wherein the 4 contingents wear Subanen outfits and it demonstrates how the Calambahanons gives essential and regard to the conviction, convention and culture of the Subanen Tribes. Through the Festival the legacy of the Subanen were protect for the following generation.Provincial Governor of Misamis Occidental Hon. Herminia M. Ramiro graced the occasion. She appreciated observing every execution.
