About Dapugan Festival

The Dagupan Bangus festival is recognized as one of the three best celebrations celebrated in the Philippines. The renowned acknowledgment is given by the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines and furthermore by the Department of Tourism. The other two celebrations named as the best tourism hones celebration classification are the Dianagsa Festival of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental and the Hugyaw Kansilay celebration of Silay City likewise in Negros Occidental. Dagupan is a city situated on the Lingayen inlet in the territory of Pangasinan in Luzon and is one of the best makers of milkfish or bangus in the region.

Bangus is viewed as the most delectable milkfish in the world. The feature of the Dagupan Bangus Festival or Philis the flame broiling of thousands of bangus and took after by a road party. Around 10,000 bangus in 1000 flame broils were barbecued along Fernandez Avenue which is a noteworthy road of Dagupan amid one world record-breaking festivity.

The Dagupan Bangus Festival is considered one of the standout amongst the most energizing festivals in the Philippines and celebrated for barely two weeks in the long stretch of April and towards the initial couple of long stretches of May with the barbecuing of bangus in the roads featuring the event. The celebration began in the year 2002 and was conceptualized by then Mayor Benjamin Saplan Lim to advance the bangus business to expand deals and generation of the nearby milkfish.
