Cristo Rey

The slope is so named due to the huge measure of quartz that could be gathered in the encompassing zone. On Sunday October 25, 1953, the statue was introduced at its summit a picture of Christ in festivity of the fifty years following the finish of the War of a Thousand Days.

It is made of iron and cement, with a mass of 464 tons and a stature of 26 m, of which 5m have a place with the platform. As individuals climb the slope they can see crafted by craftsman Carlos Andrés Gómez, who for a long time shaped his work on 34 gorges. This work is known as the scriptural scenes of Golgotha.
