About Kitwe
Kitwe is the second one largest town in terms of length and populace in Zambia. With a population of 522,092 provisional Kitwe is one of the most advanced industrial and commercial areas inside the country, alongside Ndola and Lusaka. It has a complex of mines on its north-western and western edges. Kitwe is made up of townships and suburban regions which includes Parklands, Riverside, Buchi, Chimwemwe, Kwacha, Nkana East, Nkana West, Garneton and Race Course, to say some. The metropolis is once in a while referred to as Kitwe-Nkana. It is also domestic to Zambia's 2nd maximum mastering organization The Copperbelt University.
Kitwe become founded in 1936 in north-principal Zambia as the railway was being built through Cecil Rhodes' employer. It turned into first mounted as an adjunct, non-mining-related but supportive part of an expanding copper-mining centre at Nkana. The increasing copper mines at Nkana made it the dominant centre inside the vicinity and Kitwe commenced building up its length and importance over time, eventually surpassing Nkana as the main centre. The Rhodesia Railways primary line reached the town in 1937, offering passenger offerings as a long way south as Bulawayo, with connections to Cape Town.
