About Reunification Day
The Reunification Day, the Victory Day or the Liberation Day or the official name of Day of liberating the South for national reunification is a public holiday in Vietnam that denotes the occasion when Viet Cong and North Vietnamese troops caught Saigon on April 30, 1975. This was the indication of the end of the Vietnam War, referred to in Vietnamese as Chien tranh Viet Nam Vietnam War "Resistance War Against American intrusion".
It was the beginning of the change time frame towards the reunification, which happened in the national decision for national reunification on July 2, 1976, when the Provisional Revolutionary Government of the Republic of South Vietnam and Democratic Republic of Vietnam combined, shaping the current Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The commemoration is a set apart by a few celebrations around the date. In the overseas Vietnamese people group, the day is recognized as the "Fall of Saigon", "Dark April", National Day of Shame or National Day of Resentment.
This is a memorial day for ousted Vietnamese who served, were influenced, and uprooted in those abroad groups, and all things considered as a day of reflection. Numerous Americans of ious ethnicity watch the day for recognition and solidarity.
