About Kalpathi Ratholsavam
Most people will not expect the cleaning of huge chariots through the streets of their city. Well, till today, in the imagination of Palakkad, during the annual Ratholavam chariot festival in Sri Vishwanath Swamy Temple, no foreigner can see colorful chariots. A temple dedicated to Lord Vishwanath or Shiva was built 700 years ago, usually celebrating the festival during November.
This incident has been celebrated for centuries and devotees crowd a large number of roads. In the form of chariots, people can be danced and celebrated throughout the road. Invitations for Vedic rituals and cultural programs are organized. The last three days bring three huge chariots on the streets and revelry reaches its crescendo. This is one of the most extraordinary places that God has to present his country.
