About Kadavallur Anyonyam

 

Sree Rama Temple, located at Kadavallur in Thrissur district, is the well-known temple recognised for the annual assembly of Rig vedic students – the Kadavallur Anyonyam. During the time of Anyoyam traditional pupils of Rigveda gather inside the temple and input in intense competitions in the chanting of Rigveda for 8 days.  It is, in fact, the final check, which a Brahmin boy has to take, to be called a Vedic pupil. The Kadavalloor Anyonyam is carried out for 8 days every yr throughout the first fortnight of the Malayalam month of Vrischikam.  The pageant will be held from 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs.


The essential deity of this temple is a 4-armed Vishnu who's worshipped right here as Lord Rama, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The annual ten-day arattu festival of this could be held on Pooyam asterism inside the Malayalam month of Medam. Another pageant celebrated right here is the Kadavallur Ekadeshi within the Malayalam month of Makaram. Sree Rama Jayanthi is also observed here. During Shivaratri, the Koothambalam of this temple witness diverse performances of classical art bureaucracy like Kathakali, Chakyarkoothu and so on.
