International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction
About International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction
The International Day for Disaster Reduction IDDR energizes each resident and government to participate in building more debacle flexible groups and countries. The United Nations General Assembly assigned October 13 as the International Day for Natural Disaster Reduction as a major aspect of its declaration of the International Decade for Natural Disaster Reduction.
In 2002, by a further determination, the General Assembly chose to keep up the yearly recognition as a vehicle to advance a worldwide culture of cataclysmic event diminishment, including counteractive action, alleviation and readiness. October 13 is decided as celebration day by UN General Assembly and at the same time the name is changed to International Day for Disaster Reduction.
