About Gowri Festival

 

This is a competition celebrated in the future before Ganesh Chaturthi as an afternoon to pay tribute to goddess Gowri, mother of Lord Ganesha. It is an afternoon celebrated now not simplest in Karnataka but all through India to praise the Goddess for her electricity to bestow power and courage at the human beings. It is said that in this day the Goddess Gowri like some other wife comes to her dad and mom domestic and the following day Lord Ganesha comes to take her lower back domestic.

 

On nowadays the ladies and females of the residence have a clean bathtub and dress up in new clothes and do Sthapana of the Jalgauri which is the statue of Goddess Gowri in turmeric.The goddess is installed on a plate and a puja is finished which is supposed to be executed with suchi and devotion.

 

A bagina is ready along with turmeric, kum kum, black bead and bangles, comb, small mirror, Bangalurucoconut, rice, dal and so on. One bagina is offered to the Goddess Gauri. The married lady’s circle of relatives sends her a Gauri Habadda or a present in this day it may even be money.
