Devshayani Ekadashi
About Devshayani Ekadashi
According to Hindu calendar, Devshayani Ekadashi takes place during Shukla Paksha in the Hindu month of Ashad. The day of Devshayani Ekadashi is devoted to Lord Vishnu. Once, there was a king named, Mandata. His kingdom received no rains for a period of three years and this affected the prosperity of the place. He set out on a journey to find a solution and finally, he met a muni named Angira, who asked him to do Ekadashi in the month of Ashadh. Mandata followed his advice and as a result his kingdom received rains and prosperity after three years. This is how Devshayani Ekadashi came into being.
