About Chabiyan Da Morcha
Prior to the development of the SGPC, the Darbar Sahib - Harmandar Sahib, Amritsar was administered by Mahants. As the Mahants were constrained to leave the Harmandar Sahib, the keys were given over to the British provincial rulers. The keys to Darbar Sahib's "Tosha Khana" Panthic treasury were seized by the Deputy Commissioner on Nov. 7, 1921. The disturbance to recuperate the keys is known as "Chabiyaan Da Morcha". This disturbance brought about the possible profit of the keys for Jan. 19, 1922. The keys were come back to Baba Kharak Singh, President of SGPC, amid dynamic Diwan before the Akal Takht, by District Authorities, Amritsar.
