Arrive in Cochin | Drive from Cochin to Thekkady (200 kmapprox. 5 hours)
On arrival at the Cochin airport or railway station, a Yatra representative will assist you to get transferred to the beautiful city of Thekkady. This destination is known across the country for its aromatic spice plantations, never-ending hills and rich biodiversity. It is home to the famous Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, which is inhabited by different endangered species of animals and birds. The undulating terrains of this wildlife reserve have dense forestation.
This sanctuary serves as a habitat for several mammals, birds, butterflies and amphibians. Wild animals like tiger, elephant, sambar, barking deer, leopard and flying squirrel can be spotted in this park. Owing to its rich bio-diversity, the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is a popular eco-tourism destination in Kerala.
After reaching Thekkady, complete the check-in formalities and take rest for a while. Thereafter, you may stay back at the hotel or choose to indulge in leisure activities.

Sightseeing in Thekkady Soon after breakfast, embark on a sightseeing tour of Thekkady. During the sightseeing trip, you may take a boat cruise (Charges applicable) inside the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary on Periyar Lake. This lake, surrounded with lush greenery, is artificial and was formed by a dam. The boat cruise will be a delightful experience as you may spot some wild animals wandering around the dense green surroundings.
Thereafter, proceed for a spice plantation tour (Charges applicable) of Thekkady. These plantations are known for growing spices like cardamom, cinnamon and pepper.
After a day-long sightseeing trip, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
