About Albany
Albany is the capital of the U.S. territory of New York and the seat of Albany County. Albany developed on the west bank of the Hudson River, around 10 miles south of its confluence with the Mohawk River. The financial and social core of the capital district New York is constitute by Albany, which contains the Albany-Schenectady-Troy, NY Metropolitan Statistical Area, including the close-by urban communities and rural areas of Troy, Schenectady, and Saratoga Springs.
Albany was the main European settlement in New York State. It was settled by Dutch pilgrims who in 1614, manufactured Fort Nassau for hide exchanging and Fort Orange in 1624. They shaped fruitful relations with both the Mahican and the Mohawk people groups, two noteworthy Native American countries in the locale. Albany has been a center point of advanced education for over a century, with a great part of the rest of its economy subject to state government and human services administrations.
