About Te Awamutu
Te Awamutu is a metropolis within the Waikato place in the North Island of New Zealand. It is the council seat of the Waipa District and serves as a carrier town for the farming groups which surround it. Te Awamutu is positioned some 30 kilometres 19 mi south of Hamilton on State Highway three, one of the principal routes south from Auckland and Hamilton. The metropolis is regularly known as "The Rose Town of New Zealand because of its complex rose gardens within the centre of the town. Many neighborhood businesses use Rosetown of their call, and the symbol of the rose is extensively used on neighborhood signs and billboards.
The neighborhood paper, Te Awamutu Courier, has a symbol of a rose within the masthead on its front page.
