Taxco de Alarcon

Taxco de Alarcon is one of the 81 municipalities of Guerrero, in south-western Mexico. The municipal seat lies at Taxco de Alarcon. The municipality covers a place of 347 km². In 2005, the municipality had a complete population of 9,854. The town of Taxco de Alarcon is the seat and the governing authority for 141 other communities, the most important of which are Tlamacazapa, Acamixtla, Acuitlalpan, Atzala and Taxco el Viejo. The total populace of the municipality is 98,854, and the territory measures 347 km. Less than 3% of the population of the municipality is of natural indigenous ethnicity in keeping with the Census.

The indigenous languages spoken right here are Nahuatl and Zapotec. It borders with the municipalities of Tetipac, Iguala, Teloloapan, Buena Vista de Cuellar, Pedro Ascencio Alquisiras and Ixcateopan as properly at the state of Puebla.
