About Calnali
Calnali is a metropolis and one of the 84 municipalities of Hidalgo, in central eastern Mexico. The municipality covers an area of 190.2 km². Calnali is a Nahuatl name meaning house on the alternative facet of the river. As of 2005, the municipality had a complete populace of 15,815. The cabecera or municipal seat is mainly mestizo, whilst the outlying communities are heavily populated by Nahuatl speaking indigenous human beings.
The town's tianguis is held each Sunday morning within the critical plaza and surrounding streets. Despite its small length, Calnali is essential as a nearby cultural middle, web hosting an annual music festival featuring nearby Bandas de Viento and huapango performers, in addition to an annual festival of indigenous culture. Large celebrations also are held for the Day of the Dead, Carnival and the 25th of April that's the pageant of Calnali's consumer saint; San Marcos. In the 2008 municipal elections, Calnali became the first and handiest municipality in Hidalgo to be ruled by the revolutionary Convergencia celebration.
