About Actopan
Actopan is a city and one of the 84 districts of Hidalgo, in focal eastern Mexico. The region covers a zone of 280.1 km². It is crossed by the government street that keeps running from Mexico City to Nuevo Laredo and it is found 30 km northwest of Pachuca, the capital city of the territory of Hidalgo. Actopan is known as the city of the cloister and the place where there is the grill. Its name gets from "Atoctli" signifying "firm, fruitful, and muggy land" and "dish" signifying "on" or "over" in Nahuatl. In this manner, the name Actopan comes to signify "on the firm, moist, and fruitful land". Actopan's unique name in Otomi is "Manutzi" which means "my little pathway".
It is assessed that the Toltecas touched base to a region near Actopan in 674. Constantly 1117, another indigenous gathering called the Chichimecas touched base to what is currently Actopan and Mixquiahuila. In 1113, Xide gave Actopan the name "Manutzi". Actopan was under the standard of the chichimecas until the ruler Moctezuma II included the zone that is currently Actopan to his territory. In 1521, the indigenous Otomies helped the pioneer Cuauhtémoc protect Mexico against Spanish colonizers. In 1531 Actopan was put under the ward of the corregidor of Iscuincuitlapilco.
