About Hakui
Hakui is a town located in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. The call of "Hakui" is derived from the kanji ha, which means feathers, and which means to consume. This name comes from an historic legend which tells of Prince Iwatsuku the son of Emperor Kogen killing a huge chook which plagued the location. The Prince's puppies went to the beast's body and pulled away mouthfuls of feathers.
