Subramaniyaswami Temple, Marudamalai is considered as the Seventh House of Lord Murugan. The temple is situated upon a hillock, part of the Western Ghats about 15 km west of the city of Coimbatore.It is a popular 12th-century hill temple dedicated to Hindu god Murugan. It is a perfect place to seek divinity and treat you to an architectural delight. Temple is surrounded by a scenic view of a wide range of mountains which has a peaceful environment.
Located on a hilltop, it offers you some spellbinding views of the adjoining lush landscape. This picturesque hill is an attraction in itself. There is a cave referred to as "Paambaatti Sitthar Kugai" dedicated to a Sitthar who lived here. At the foothills of the temple, there is a temple for Lord Pillayar known as the “Thaan thondri Vinaayakar”, there is any number of shops that you will witness when you climb the steps to the temple. One can also devote their hair by tonsuring. This Place of worship is very serene and peaceful. Behind the main temple, there is one more place called Pambatti Siddhar temple below the main temple level which is a pleasant place. One of the best temple to visit if one visit in Coimbatore.
