About Bischofswerda
Bischofswerda is a community in Germany at the western edge of Upper Lusatia in Saxony. The waterway Wesenitz courses through Bischofswerda. The primary narrative proof of the presence of Bischofswerda dates from 1227. Ostensibly the town was established by the Bishops of Meissen, however it might have existed before that point. In 1288 city dividers were built. The main notice of Bischofswerda as a city is in a report dating from 1361.
The town stayed under the specialist of the Bishops of Meissen until 1559 when control was exchanged to Augustus, Elector of Saxony, who presented Protestantism. The city arms depend on a 14th century seal and comprise of two crossed priest's croziers and four stars. The centrality of the stars isn't known. Among the most great structures are the town corridor and the Christuskirche. Both are instances of neo-traditional engineering and were structured by Gottlob Friedrich Thormeyer.
The town lobby Rathaus was built in 1818, simply off the Altmarkt, the focal point of the town. The passageway to the Christuskirche is brightened by a mosaic by Josef Goller. In the inside one can discover a sketch by Osmar Schindler, who experienced childhood in the town. The Catholic church is named after Saint Benno of Meissen, who is said to have established Bischofswerda in the 11th century.
