About Apolda
Apolda is a town in focal Thuringia, Germany, the capital of the Weimarer Land district. It is arranged in the focal point of the triangle Weimar– Jena– Naumburg close to the waterway Ilm, c. 15 kilometers east by north from Weimar. Apolda station lies on the Halle– Bebra railroad, which is a piece of the primary line from Berlin to Frankfurt.
Apolda was first referenced in 1119. Until 1633 it was seat of a group of nobles, the Vitzthums, which acted moderately free. Among 1633 and World War I Apolda was property of Jena University. In any case, from 1691 to 1809 Apolda was a piece of the Duchy of Saxe-Weimar and from 1809 to 1918 of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach after 1815 Grand Duchy. Around 1700, the sewing business started to develop, so that at last, toward the finish of the 19th century, Apolda was the wealthiest town of the entire district. After World War II, Thuringia turned out to be a piece of the German Democratic Republic. Up to German reunification Apolda still was well known for its material ventures. From that point forward, a prominent monetary rot has occurred.
