About World Refugee Day

World Refugee Day  will be celebrated all through the world by the general population on 20th of June consistently. World Refugee Day is observed each year with a specific end goal to raise people in general awareness about Refugee's circumstances all through the world. Observing World Refugee Day every year on 20th of June was pronounced by the United Nations General Assembly in the Resolution 55/76 on fourth of December in 2000.

It was begun celebrating worldwide as a yearly occasion from 2001 on each 20th of June. In 2001 World Refugee Day is celebrated as 50th commemoration of 1951 Convention Refugees status by the United Nations General Assembly. It has been started celebrating in a few nations all around the globe from 2000.
