About Manarcad Perunnal

The Manarcaud Perunnal is connoted by eight days of dedication and celebrations where a huge number of enthusiasts run in to be a piece of this great event and stay in the congregation premises from morning till night. The festivals check the yearly devour of St Mary's Church at Manarcaud in Kottayam. The feature of the celebration is a lively parade conveying the sacrosanct brilliant cross which is taken out on the last three days of the devour.

The enthusiasts take part in the parade holding muthukkuda beautified parasols. Privately known as ettunoyambu ettu in nearby dialect Malayalam implies eight and noyambu implies fasting, the devour sees a gigantic inundation of enthusiasts from close and far touching base to pay their respect and watch fasting.
