Valiya Vilakku Vela, popularly referred to as Vadakkanthara Vela, is a pageant celebrated once in three years at Sree Kachanam Kulam Thirupuraikkal Bhagavathy Temple at Vadakkanthara, Palakkad. Last competition changed into held on March and the next will be on February - March .

 

During Vela festival ‘Kariveshams' will be touring the homes within the vicinity for making the ritualistic assertion of the advent of the ‘Vela'. Traditional ritualistic gala's like Kathirvela, Variezuthu, Paalamaram Murikkal, Kummati, and Kanniyar may be carried out within the temple.

 

On the very last day of the pageant is the Kazchashiveli or the procession. For this as many as 15 caparisoned elephants can be there. Get equipped to experience this Festival have fun in your town.
