About Mewar Festival

The Mewar  Festival, one renowned Festival of Udaipur, celebrated on the arrival of spring. This festival is stamp of culture and tradition of not only Udaipur but also of whole of Rajasthan. People participate in this festival enthusiastically in different parts of Udaipur. During this festival the city claims to be colorful. Many practices are involved after local practices in the festival of the Maywar Festival. They prepare images of Gangaur and Issar.

After this there is a procession that passes through different parts of the city. As the procession reaches Pichola Lake, images are taken to boats. The festival of the Maywar Festival also includes organizing several cultural programs and activities. Dance, songs and cultural events are also done. People in this area claim a pleasant mood and enjoy every part of the festival.
