About Meena Sankranti

The beginning of the twelfth month in the Hindu date-book is commended as Meena Sankranti. This is the latest month and the sun goes into the place of Pisces on this day. This day is otherwise called Meena Sankramanam in Southern India. Like all other Sankranti celebrations, on this day it is propitious to give articles and get endowments.

This day is commended in ious routes according to the way of life and it is said giving arrive on this day is a decent method to look for bliss for oneself. It is said that the sixteen ghatis that take after the Sankranti are considered shubh ghatis. There are numerous kinds of blessed droning and pujas done in families to free oneself from sins of the past.

Showering in the Holy waters of Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati are viewed as favorable. Sankranti implies the beginning of another month as indicated by all other Hindu societies with the exception of Bengali thus it is trusted that great deeds of today will pay off all through the coming month.
