About Lantern and Moon Festival
The Wine Harvest pageant takes location in Jerez de la Frontera in September, and coincides with the start of the wine harvest, one of the main occasions in the metropolis. The celebrations pay tribute to the 3 emblematic elements in the lifestyle of Jerez de la Frontera: wine, horses and flamenco. Grape stomping, gastronomy, street theatre, song and popular subculture fill the town’s streets with fun and excessive spirits. The festivities include flamenco suggests, horse parades, presentations of horsemanship and visits to vineyards, in addition to wine tasting, exhibitions and competitions.
