About Guwahati International Film Festival
The third Guwahati International Film Festival is an annual film festival held in Guwahati, Assam, India.The State Government-owned Jyoti Chitraban Society organised the competition in association with the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute. The first ever Guwahati International Film Festival to be held in northeast India, if you want to be inaugurated on October 28, by Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal. The Assam authorities supported pageant started out on October 28 with screening of the Oscar winning ‘The Salesman’, directed with the aid of Asghar Farhadi and produced through a joint collaboration of Iran and France.
1st version of Guwahati International Film Festival held from 28 October to 2 November together at Srimanta Sankaradev Kalakshetra and Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Regional Government Film and Television Institute typically called Jyoti Chitraban. Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal officially inaugurated it on 28 October and competition started out on October 28 with screening of the Oscar winning ‘The Salesman’, directed via Asghar Farhadi.
