About Gauri Puja
Gauri Puja is held on the third day during the 10-day Ganesh Chaturthi puja. Gauri who is considered to be Ganesha’s sister, comes in search of Lord Ganesh and is believed to bring in auspiciousness and prosperity. Two idols of Goddess Gauri are brought home and worshipped and the arrival is regarded as the coming of the sisters of Ganesha by some people. Some also believe that it is Goddess Parvati, the mother of Lord Ganesha.
