About Agal-Agal Festival

The Province of Tawi-Tawi is considered as the greatest maker of Seaweed Powder in the nation. This is the Agal-agal Festival which is said to be the main Seaweed Festival in the nation. It is gotten from the word Agal-Agal which is the nearby term for kelp in the Sulu Archipelago. The organizing of AGAL-AGAL FESTIVAL corresponds with the Kamahardikaan Sin Tawi-Tawi or the Founding Anniversary of the Province which happens each 25th of September. This year, the festival was held in the town of Languyan, one of the 11 towns of Tawi-Tawi.
