Plymouth
About Plymouth
Plymouth is a seaside town in Massachusetts, south of Boston. It is the site of the principal Pilgrim settlement, established in 1620. Plymouth Rock, a stone in Pilgrim Memorial State Park, denotes where pioneers are thought to have arrived on shore.
The Mayflower II, a full-scale reproduction of the ship that conveyed the Pilgrims over the Atlantic, is typically moored at the recreation center. Inland, Pilgrim Hall Museum, which opened in 1824, shows antiquities recording the historical backdrop of the region's local individuals and Pilgrim homesteaders.
Adjacent, Burial Hill Cemetery is the resting spot of numerous early pilgrims. Other legacy attractions incorporate Richard Sparrow House, a workmanship exhibition in a seventeenth century home. Over the Town Brook waterway is the reestablished Jabez Howland House, which was claimed by unique May flower travelers.
