Ford City

Ford City is a statistics assigned a place in Kern County, California, United States. Portage City is found 1 mile north of Taft, at a rise of 892 feet.The populace was 4,278 at the 2010 enumeration, up from 3,512 at the 2000 statistics. It is instantly north of Taft, between the gigantic Midway-Sunset Oil Field toward the southwest, and the relatively depleted Buena Vista Oil Field toward the upper east. State Route 119 passes east of town from its intersection with SR 33 toward the south.Originally an oil blast town, the place was named after Ford Motor Company because of the wealth of Ford Model T autos there.
