Dent
About Dent
Dent is a town and common area in Cumbria, England. It lies in Dentdale, a thin valley on the western inclines of the Pennines inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is around 4 miles 6 km south east of Sedbergh and around 8 miles 13 km north east of Kirkby Lonsdale. Both place name and lingo confirm demonstrate that this region was settled by the Norse in the tenth century. Geoffrey Hodgson, in 2008, contended that this attack represents the high recurrence of the Hodgson surname in the region. While angling on the Dee at Dentdale in the 1840s, William Armstrong saw a waterwheel in real life, providing energy to a marble quarry. It struck Armstrong that a great part of the accessible influence was being squandered and it motivated him to plan a fruitful water driven motor which started the aggregation of his riches and mechanical realm.
