In the late 1800s, Antelope was the main noteworthy settlement in the Center Township, a region limited on the North by the Placer region line, on the East by what is presently Sunrise Blvd., on the South by the American River, and on the West by the line along twentieth St in Rio Linda south to Ethan Way in the Arden-Arcade zone. Step by step, laborers left the territory and Antelope turned out to be simply one more little group with little business.
