It is a registration assigned place and unincorporated group. By street it is 10.9 miles west of downtown Portland. As of the 2010 Census, the populace was 49,425. Fire insurance and EMS administrations are given through Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue. On January 9, 1912, the group got its name with the opening of a mail station named Aloha; the territory had beforehand been known as Wheeler Crossing. As per Oregon Geographic Names, the cause of the name Aloha is questioned. A few sources say it was named by Robert Caples, a railroad specialist, however it is obscure why the name was picked. In 1983 Joseph H. Buck guaranteed that his uncle, the primary postmaster, Julius Buck, named the workplace "Aloah" after a little resort on Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin.
