Mykolayiv, Russian Nikolayev, also spelled Nikolaev is a town in southern Ukraine. The town lies along the estuary of the Southern Buh River, about 40 miles from the Black Sea. It was based in 1788 as a naval base after the Russian annexation of the Black Sea coast, close to the web page of the ancient Greek Olbia. In 1862 a business harbour become opened, and in 1873 a railway changed into constructed to the port. It is now one of the most crucial Ukrainian Black Sea ports, serving the Kryvyy Rih vicinity and sizable steppe grain lands.
Mykolayiv is one of the largest shipbuilding centres of Ukraine. The metropolis also has a huge variety of different engineering and patron-items industries. An alumina-processing plant making use of imported bauxite was constructed in the 1970s inside the suburb of Zhovtneve. Mykolayiv is a modern town in look, laid out on a gridiron sample of wide streets. This is the nice place to visit.
