About Sulusaray
Sulusaray is a town and a locale of Tokat Province operating at a profit Sea district of Turkey. Sulusaray is around 68 km from the focal point of Tokat, and around 30 km from Artova town. The site is arranged on a plain encompassed by mountains and the Cekerek stream keeps running close it. The chairman is Sahin Hasgul. The date of establishment of this old city is as yet obscure.
A few sources say that it was first settled in the principal century amid the rule of Roman sovereign Trajan, and that the city was isolated from the areas of Pontus Galaticus/Polemoniacus and was incorporated into the region of Cappadocia. A commemoration engraving about this survives. The inscription was composed as a landmark for Arrian, the Governor of the area of Cappadocia. In Ptolemy's time, it was a town in Pontus Cappadocicus, which, as indicated by the Antonine Itinerary, was arranged on a course driving from Tavium to Sebastia, and was associated by a street with Caesarea.
Pliny places it in the region of Colopene, and concurs with different experts in portraying it as a residential community. Structural pieces recouped amid the diggings composed by the Directorate of the Tokat Museum in 1987 demonstrated that the city was a vital settlement amid the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods. The curios recouped at the Comana Pontica are fundamentally the same as those recuperated from the city of Sebastopolis, presumably these two old urban communities had a cozy relationship before.
