About Sason
Sason is a locale in the Batman Province of Turkey. It was once part of the sanjak of Siirt, which was in Diyarbakır vilayet until 1880 and in Bitlis Vilayet in 1892. Later it turned out to be a piece of Mus sanjak in Bitlis vilayet, and remained some portion of Mus until 1927. It was one of the locale of Siirt region until 1993. The limits of the region changed impressively in time. The current outskirts are not the equivalent as in the 19th century, when the region of Sasun was arranged more toward the north.
Sasun, as it is called by Armenians, holds a noticeable job in Armenian culture and history. It is the setting of Daredevils of Sassoun, Armenia's national epic. In the late 19th and mid 20th century it was a noteworthy area of Armenian fedayi exercises, who arranged two uprisings against the Ottoman experts and Kurdish clans in 1894 and 1904. Truly the region was known as Sasun, some portion of the verifiable Armenian Highland. Sasun was in the Arzanene area of the old Armenian Kingdom. Later the locale was administered by the Mamikonian line from around 772 until 1189/1190, when the Mamikonians moved to Cilicia in the wake of being confiscated by Shah-Armen.
