About Niksar
Niksar is a city in Tokat Province, Turkey. It was settled by numerous domains, being before the capital city of the region. Niksar is known as "Cukurova of the North-Anatolia" because of its generation of numerous sorts of foods grown from the ground with the exception of citrus fruits. On 02 Mai 2018 Niksar was incorporated into the World Heritage conditional list. Niksar has been managed by the Hittite, Persian, Greek, Pontic, Roman, Byzantine, Danishmend, Seljuk and Ottoman Empires.
It has dependably been a critical place in Anatolia due to its area, atmosphere and beneficial terrains. It was known as Cabira in the Hellenistic time frame. it was one of the most loved living arrangements of Mithridates the Great, who constructed a royal residence there, and later of King Polemon I and his successors. In 72 or 71 BC, the Battle of Cabira amid the Third Mithridatic War occurred at Niksar, and the city go to the Romans.
Niksar was called Diospolis, Sebaste, and Neokaisareia amid the Roman time frame. Pompey made it a city and gave it the name of Diopolis, while Pythodoris, widow of Polemon, made it her capital and called it Sebaste. It isn't known definitely when it accepted the name of Neokaisareia, made reference to without precedent for Pliny, "Hist. Nat.", VI, III, 1, however making a decision from its coins, one may assume that it was amid the rule of Tiberius.
