About Fatih
Fatih, traditionally Constantinople, is the capital district and a municipality in Istanbul, Turkey which hosts all of the provincial authorities, including the governor's office, police headquarters, metropolitan municipality and tax workplace even as encompassing the peninsula coinciding with old Constantinople. In 2009, the district of Eminonu, which were a separate municipality placed on the tip of the peninsula, was another time remerged into Fatih due to the small populace of Eminonu.
Fatih is bordered through the Golden Horn to the north and the Sea of Marmara to the south, at the same time as the Western border is demarked via the Theodosian wall and the east through the Bosphorus Strait. The call "Fatih" comes from the Ottoman emperor Fatih Sultan Mehmed, and approach "Conqueror" in Turkish, firstly from Arabic. The Fatih Mosque constructed by using Mehmed II is on this district, whilst his resting vicinity is next to the mosque and is much visited. It was on the ruins of the Church of the Holy Apostles, destroyed by means of earthquakes and years of war, that the Fatih Mosque become constructed, and around the mosque a massive prayer faculty.
