Dogubayazit

Dogubayazit is a locale of Agri Province of Turkey, and it is the easternmost region of Turkey, circumscribing Iran. Its height is 1625 m and its region is 2,383 km². Dogubayazit's populace in 2010 was 115,354 of which 69,447 live in the town of Dogubayazit, the rest of the encompassing farmland. The town of Dogubayazit is a settlement with a long history. It lies 15 km southwest of Mount Ararat, 93 km east of the city of Agri and 35 km from the Iranian fringe. The town remains on a plain encompassed by a portion of Turkey's most noteworthy pinnacles including: Ararat 5,137 m, Little Ararat 3,896 m, Tendurek Dagi 3,533 m, Kaletepe 3,196 m, Arıdagi 2,934 m and Gollertepe 2,643 m.

For the greater part of the periods depicted here, Dogubayazit was a greater and more vital settlement than the present-day commonplace capital Agri, not slightest in light of the fact that this is the Iranian fringe crossing. The territory has had a rich history with landmarks going back to the season of the Kingdom of Urartu more than 2700 years prior. Before the Ottoman Empire the site was alluded to by its Armenian name Daruynk. In the 4^th century the Sasanians neglected to catch the Armenian fortress and imperial treasury at Daroynk. Sovereigns of the Bagratid tradition of Armenia lived at Daroynk and revamped the fortification into its present setup with numerous baileys and towers deliberately incorporated into the climbing rock outcrop. When King Gagik Arcruni reoccupied the fortification ca. 922 A.D.
